The Garden House and Woodside Cottage, Holiday Cottages in the Cairngorm national park.

Location

In the foothills of the Grampian Mountains lie the picturesque glens of Strathdon and Glenbuchat within the Cairngorms National Park. This area is 45 miles west of Aberdeen and a one hour drive for airport and railway.

Strathdon has a licensed Spar shop and Post Office and hotels with meals. Within a half hour drive are Alford or Aboyne which have shops, supermarket, banks and all amenities. Royal Deeside is within easy reach where you will find Balmoral Castle and the thriving centres of Ballater and Braemar.

Grantown-on-Spey is to the west and is on the way to Aviemore and the Cairngorm plateau. On the way here you will see Tomintoul the highest village in the Highlands. A good place to start The Whisky Trail for which Speyside is famous.

A drive north to the Moray Firth will be rewarded with a mild climate and the possibility of seeing dolphins.

A stay in Strathdon and Glenbuchat will give you the opportunity to experience peaceful seclusion or explore a wealth of attractions on days out.
