Circular Format Brooch with "Wheels" and "Pearls of Barley" This design is inspired from a visit to a collection of Norwegian folk jewellery in Oslo. Many of the pieces date back to 1600, and were worn by peasant farmers. The brooch wa used to hold the two sides of the high-necked shirt together on the "bunad" (Norwegian Folk Dress) that is still worn today.
