WEDDING AT `MONARCH OF THE GLEN'
From
the minute you turn off the main road and drive across the old bridge
and through the barrier you enter the fairytale land of `Monarch of
the Glen'. Past the wide open golden shore of the private lochside beach
you follow the tarmac road for 3 miles before reaching the castle.
A photographers paradise will await you.
The castle, gardens and beaches are exclusively yours for the day for
you and your guests to enjoy. The ground floor rooms consist of a wonderful
oak panelled hall with splendid staircase and carved details/stags heads
on the walls alongside many famous paintings.
The cosy library, drawing room and dining room all look over the loch
and are available for your use for ceremony and reception.
Upstairs belongs to the family and is kept private, however bathroom
facilities are on ground level.
Depending on numbers of guests you may choose any of these rooms to
host your ceremony.
The hall is ideal for up to 80 guests and the wedding couple may choose
to marry on the staircase or in front of one of the many unusual mirrors
set within the walls. The hall is also the most appropriate room for
dancing/music.
Smaller and more intimate ceremonies for up to 40 may be held in the
Drawing Room with its comfy atmosphere and lovely outlook.
If there is only a few attending then the library on a winter's day
is perfect with its open log fire.

Fine
dining for the wedding breakfast is offered in the Dining Room leading
off the library which seats 40 maximum or 80 for a running buffet. It
is possible to erect marquees on the lochside lawn for summer weddings
(up to 150 max) from June to September.
No accommodation is available within the castle but nearby on the estate
are 4 lovely self- catering holiday cottages, these are let on a weekly
basis you have the private use of the estate and beaches. Local hotels
in Spean Bridge and Kingussie can offer dinner, B/B per night.
